Based on the energy consumption statistics of a major airport in cold zone, analyses the composition of airport energy consumption in detail, emphasizes the characteristics of power consumption, and indicates the key points and technical direction of energy saving for terminal air conditioning system. The results show that the main energy consumption of the airport is electric power, accounting for about 66% of the total energy consumption of the airport, of which the terminal is the main part of the power consumer accounting for about 70% of the airports total power consumption. The power consumption of air conditioning system in the terminal accounts for about 35% of the terminals power consumption. The largest power consumer of the air conditioning system is fans in air conditioning cabins, which accounts for about 50% of the power consumption of the air conditioning system. In order to reduce the power consumption of terminal fans of air conditioners and improve the energy efficiency ratio of air conditioning system, adopts multi energy saving technologies in airport terminal air conditioning design including distributed air handling terminals, radiant air conditioning terminals and variable frequency fans.
